Libera mens servire negat – a free mind won’t serve.
Welcome to “lunatics!” – pictures to discover hidden details.
about lunatics!
The core of the work is the interplay between urban life and nature. This interplay is constantly reflected in the works. The sense of aesthetics and details is reflected in the focus on architecture and macro. The themes of “lunatics!” The work is structured accordingly.
* Urban Life / Urban > Abstract > Stuttgart @ Midnight
The area “Urban Life” deals with places and forms that shape these places. It is often the architecture that characterizes the places. This area includes two special topics: “Abstract” and “Stuttgart@Midnight”. In the abstract there are pictorial sketches and notes from urban spaces that tell little stories and dissolve their representational nature. “Stuttgart@Midnight” is a small homage to the city, which skilfully and consistently sells itself short and so often gets in its own way.
* Discover Hidden / Macro > Nature
Here, too, the eye of the beholder is invited to discover hidden details. This succeeds strikingly and most easily by making small things “big” and thus opening up a different world for the viewer. Nature has many surprises in store – you just have to make them visible. The core is micro-photography with image scales beyond 1 : 1. It is supplemented by classic macro photography with images up to 1 : 1. Other perspectives can be found in the “Nature” area, which rounds off the subject area.
* more
Strictly speaking, the “more” does not belong to “lunatics!”. It’s a hodgepodge of “leftovers” that’s too good to just throw away. Here you will find mainly tutorials, but also sketches and notes.
lunatics! is an internal project of ideen-park GmbH, originally started as a software and photography project. The roots go back to 1992. The predecessor company “rdd – reprografie & datendesign” was about image retouching, pre-printing and the preparation of electronic media. Back then with the legendary Atari TTs and the first Macs. With the transition to the ideen-park, photography and the EBV remained a purely internal topic. Some parts of this project were only made publicly accessible due to demand. That doesn’t change the fact that the basic idea behind this blog is purely private and internal. Therefore, please consider your visit here as a private visit and also note the disclaimer.
